How We're Funded
Since launching in 2022, My Veteran Hero has worked the same way every day: someone nominates a veteran in their life, we send that veteran a custom apparel item with a note naming who nominated them, and a piece of gratitude travels from one Iowan to another.
In 2025, the program expanded to custom Iowa Veteran hats — each one embroidered with the veteran’s branch of service on the back. A small detail that tells a veteran: we know your specific service, and we honor it.
