The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation was born from a simple belief: those who are given much owe something back. We’ve been giving back to Iowa since 2006, because in this great state we’re all neighbors.
Where We Focus
The foundation works in four areas where rural communities need it most.
Each program is rooted in listening to what people actually need.
Nutrition & Hunger Support
One in five Iowans doesn’t always know where their next meal is coming from. We show up every summer, holiday, and school year with Iowa pork and a willingness to work.
Military Support
We work alongside veterans and service members every day. Saying thank you isn’t a gesture for us — it’s a practice we live by across Iowa.
Childhood Cancer Support
A diagnosis changes everything. We can’t take that away, but we make sure families fighting childhood cancer have a place to rest, gather, and find joy.
Rural Vitality
Small towns are Iowa’s heart and soul, and too often overlooked. We invest in their libraries, kids, 4-H clubs, and futures because we believe those futures are bright.
Our programs all evolved out of needs we witnessed in our own backyard, in the communities of our employees, in the towns where we farm. They take different shape and tackle different needs, but they come from the same core desire: to see Iowans thrive.

From Iowa Falls, With Purpose
Jeff and Deb Hansen grew up in Iowa Falls. They built Iowa Select Farms — the largest family-owned pork production company in the United States — on the belief that you don’t measure success by what you accumulate, but by what you give back.
The Foundation they started in 2006 isn’t a corporate program. It’s an extension of who they are: farmers, parents, grandparents, and Iowans who never forgot where they came from.
